Start the day with the famous view of the Old City from the Mount of Olives. Continue down to Gethsemany, the Church of Agony. We will stop at Mary's tomb and then continue to Mount Zion - the tomb of King David and the room of the Last Supper. Enter the Walled City through the Roman Cardo and the Herodian Mansions, the Hurvah synagogue and reach the Western Wall in the Jewish quarter.
Continue on the path of Via Dolorosa to the Holy Sepulchre, through the Muslim and the Christian quarters. End of the visit through the Armenian Quarter.

17 May: the Dead Sea
|

Drive through the moonscaped Judean Desert down to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth (almost 400 meters below sea level). Pass Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Visit of Massada. Ascend by cable car to the top of the mountain to marvel at King Herod’s desert fortress-palace and last stronghold of the Jewish zealots against Roman domination in 73 CE.

Experience a floating bath at lunch time on the Dead Sea shore. On our way back, stop at kibbutz Ein Gedi, a real oasis in the desert. Discover the amazing botanical garden.
